On a creative tide...

And the moon spoke in stars

And the moon spoke in stars to a glistening sea

Where dream flamed lanterns float on star-glittered tides of shimmering mirrors

With a face like the moon, wise and awake

— they roll on warm waves of love towards the deep lights of home

A luminous lantern gathering

The stars surround them, a constellation of hope

A starlight garland of circling lights, inspiration-lit boats

— those peaceful travellers bobbing together in infinite possibility

They circle and transform by the light of the sea

Creative potential swirling in pearly translucency

And the moon wept in stars

— for those beautiful travellers merge in infinite love

Contemplate the light of the stars reflecting on the ocean...

I feel inspired by the night sea, where stars cascade like diamonds, shimmering with hope, representing the magic of creative potential. The ocean is an endless possibility, like creativity. I contemplate my creative journey and the degree programme as a creative home, a floating lantern of warmth and light guiding me towards an unknown destination. I contemplate the Creative Arts students, wise and awake, circling, unique and united in creative purpose. They are moving, sailing, dreaming and lit from within by the light of their dreams and filled with potential. I contemplate how the moon might perceive them as a reflection, looking down on a luminescent constellation, a galaxy of creative lights reflecting like the stars above, jewels in the night sky. When the moon speaks in stars, a festival of lights appears on the night sea and when the students shine, they are a festival of stars on a creative tide.

Something Beautiful Shared

This work was very kindly sent to me by Dr Suzanne Conboy-Hill, a fellow OCA student. I let her know my showcase work complimented her beautiful painting. It's lovely to see those twinkly stars! Thank you, Suzanne!

'3cm a Year' "...titled '3cm a year' because the moon is moving away from the earth at that speed and the painting shows it in its fantasised new world through that handy sci fi trope, a rift in the time/space continuum." - Suzanne (Click the video and expand to see it better)

Thank you for visiting! Feel free to leave some thoughts - Tricia
